HISTORY: Kalkidan's family was supported by Shalom before her mother's death in 2011. Just before her death, her mother relinquished Kalkidan to Shalom. Her father is HIV positive but his whereabouts are unknown.

$180 a month is required to provide for Kalkidan's basic needs, including food, school, medical and housing.
