ABOUT: Amanuel has a killer smile, just like his little brother Abraham! He is an incredible athlete.

HISTORY: Amanuel's mother passed away from cancer and his father is unable to care for him, due to substance abuse. At eight years old, he and his younger sister, Bette, were sent to live with their aunt. She treated them as slaves, and did not allow them to attend school. Amanuel shined shoes and begged to help provide for himself and Bette. Their older brother, Dawit, found them and brought them back to Shalom, where he was being helped. They have lived there since 2011. One year later, his younger siblings, Abraham and Nardos, came to Shalom.

$180 a month is required to provide for Amanuel's basic needs, including food, school, medical and housing.
